Location: Houston, TX (100% Onsite)
Salary: $115,000-125,000

Position Overview
The Accounting Manager will oversee the accounting department and ensure the integrity of financial reporting, compliance with accounting standards, and the effective management of financial resources. This role involves leading a team of accountants to ensure accurate financial records and reporting, while also contributing to process improvements and strategic financial planning.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department
• Ensure the accuracy of financial reporting and compliance with accounting standards
• Prepare monthly financial statements and reports, including P&L accounts and balance sheets
• Conduct variance analysis and financial analysis to assess performance
• Lead the budget and forecasting processes
• Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable activities
• Manage inventory audits and ensure accuracy in inventory reporting
• Implement and improve accounting processes and systems
• Supervise journal entries and month-end close procedures
• Coordinate with external auditors during audits and ensure compliance

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 5+ years of experience in accounting or finance, with at least 2 years in a managerial role
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing accounting
• Experience with financial reporting and cost accounting preferred
• Proficiency in accounting software, specifically Sage and Sage 300
• Advanced Excel skills for financial analysis and reporting
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
• Strong leadership and team management abilities
• Ability to work hands-on and be involved in day-to-day accounting activities
• Familiarity with process improvement methodologies and project accounting practices
