As an Audit Manager you are responsible for supervising, directing and reviewing the results through the delegation of tasks throughout the planning, field work and "wrap-up" stages of an client engagement. In this role, an Audit Manager is charged with marketing, networking and business development within an area of expertise, as well as the responsibility of ensuring engagement profitability involving billings and collections.
Responsibilities
Advise clients on various economic and regulatory risks within their industry
Resolving complex accounting issues with the client
Documenting, validating, testing and assessing various financial reporting control systems
Supervise and provide on-the-job-training to the engagement staff during audit field work
Responsible for supervision of engagement staff on all projects to include: reviewing work, provide review comments, and schedule and help manage staff workload
Sets the tone for teamwork by supporting others in their work and delivering on commitments made to the team and clients
Responsible for supervision of staff on the engagement including review of work, providing review comments, and management of the staff workload
Acts as a Career Coach to staff, provides verbal and written performance feedback, and aids with goal setting
Requirements
Bachelor's in accounting or equivalent required
Master's degree in accountancy preferred
CPA license required
5+ years of hands-on audit experience with a large local, regional or national public accounting firm preferred
Prior supervisory experience strongly preferred
Able to identify complex client issues and recommend creative solutions
Deliver legendary service by making each interaction with our audit clients stand out
Establish personal and networking relationships with clients, prospects, and referral sources through active involvement in industry, civic, and social clubs
Share knowledge with others to facilitate skill development and career advancement
Build and lead a team effectively to cultivate an environment of trust, respect, and fairness
Great project management, analytical, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
Experience using CCH Engagement and Knowledge Coach research tools or equivalent required
Microsoft Office Products, including Windows, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
