Job Title: Civil Rights Attorney (open to all levels)
Location: New York, NY
Salary: $100K-$200K+ (depending on level & experience)
Requirements: Juris Doctor, Admission to NY State Bar, Civil Rights Law
- Work on various plaintiff civil rights cases, including prisoner abuse, false arrest, false imprisonment, police brutality, excessive force, unlawful stop and frisk issues, Title 42 U.S.C. 1983 Claims
- Interact with current and potential clients
- Review and evaluate case details
- Draft and review pleadings, motions, discovery demands, and responses
- Prepare for and attend virtual and in-person court appearances
- Enter into settlement negotiations with opposing counsel, mediations
- JD with Admission to the NY state bar association; preference for admittance to both NY & NJ bars
- Experience practicing civil rights law
- Ability to draft clear and concise legal documents
- Experience with legal drafting and litigation procedures
- Bonus points for bilingual speakers
