Position Overview:

A construction estimator is responsible for analyzing construction plans and specifications to prepare accurate cost estimates for construction projects. They must have a strong understanding of construction processes and materials, as well as experience in bidding and managing projects. The ideal candidate will also have experience in healthcare, higher-education, K-12, and Commercial construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Review construction plans and specifications to accurately estimate project costs
Collaborate with project managers and contractors to determine project scope and requirements
Prepare and submit bids for construction projects
Conduct site visits to gather information and assess project needs
Analyze and compare subcontractor and supplier bids, negotiating to obtain the best prices and services
Create and maintain project budgets and schedules
Monitor and track project costs and expenses
Communicate effectively with clients, vendors, and team members
Provide expertise and guidance on cost-saving measures and value engineering solutions

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or related field
Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction and estimating
Strong understanding of construction processes and materials
Experience in bidding and managing construction projects
Knowledge of healthcare, higher-education, K-12, and Commercial construction projects
Excellent mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Proficient in construction estimating software
Excellent communication and negotiation skills
Strong attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines
Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications
