Controls Engineer

Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Controls Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the design, development, and implementation of control systems to enhance automation and robotic processes in our manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities

Design and implement control systems for robotic and automation applications
Develop and troubleshoot control schematics and wiring diagrams
Conduct root cause analysis to resolve system issues
Utilize programming languages and software such as PLC, HMI, and SCADA for system integration
Collaborate with mechanical engineers to ensure smooth device placement and integration of mechanical and electrical systems
Create and maintain documentation including Bill of Materials and electrical designs
Perform system commissioning and support troubleshooting efforts
Ensure compliance with UL, NEC standards during design and implementation
Support ongoing monitoring and optimization of control systems

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or a related field
Proven experience in controls engineering within a manufacturing environment
Strong knowledge of robotics and automation systems
Experience with Allen-Bradley, Siemens, and other PLC platforms
Familiarity with CAD software such as AutoCAD Electrical, SolidWorks, and Inventor
Understanding of electrical and mechanical systems, including fluid dynamics
Ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams and control panels
Knowledge of Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) safety procedures
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
