Estimator - Commercial Construction

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Estimator to join our commercial construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for various construction projects, focusing on sectors such as higher education, hospitality, healthcare, and K-12 facilities. This role requires collaboration with project managers, architects, and clients to ensure project feasibility and profitability.

Key Responsibilities

Review and analyze project plans and specifications to prepare estimates.
Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to assess project scope and requirements.
Gather and evaluate subcontractor and supplier bids to ensure competitive pricing.
Prepare detailed cost estimates and budgets for commercial construction projects.
Conduct site visits to assess project conditions and gather necessary data for estimating.
Monitor and update estimates throughout the project lifecycle to reflect changes in scope or materials.
Assist in developing project schedules and timelines based on estimated costs.
Provide support during the bidding process and communicate with clients regarding estimates.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred.
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as an estimator in commercial construction.
Proficient in construction estimating software and tools.
Strong understanding of construction methods and materials.
Excellent analytical and mathematical skills.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with various stakeholders.
Experience in higher education, office, hospitality, healthcare, or K-12 construction projects is a plus.
