Job Title: Wastewater Operations Supervisor
Salary: $81,600-$122,400

Requirements: Associates degree in Water Quality Management, Biological Sciences, or Chemistry; 5+ years experience operation a water or wastewater facility, MUST possess a valid State of Colorado A Wastewater License (or be able to obtain it through reciprocity or renewal within 1 year)
Who We Are
We are one of the largest water resource recovery facilities in Colorado. We treat nearly 20 million gallons of wastewater each day. Our Engineering Division plans, designs, and constructs treatment infrastructure, manages all assets, optimizes processes, and maintains all electrical instrumentation and controls
- Working with the plant Operator in Responsible Charge (ORC), recommends changes to SOPs and workflow; suggests workflow improvements and efficiencies where applicable, including optimization recommendations.
- Monitors and makes recommendations related to wastewater treatment processes; manually or through the use of a Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) computer system, including tank levels, chemical feed rates and concentrations, water quality parameters, air and water flow, pumps, blowers, & valve configurations. Makes changes as needed under the guidance of the Written Operating Plan & plant ORC. Communicates and logs changes.
- Reviews reports of anomalies, needed repairs and troubleshooting. Delegate corrective action to the appropriate staff and ensure that they are empowered and properly resourced. Oversees water quality sampling and the work flow surrounding this including quality control/quality assurance, and routine maintenance of process analyzers. Suggests and makes purchases.
- Oversees various field tests on samples using field test kits to monitor biological and chemical concentrations, such as TSS, DO, pH, Temperature, Alkalinity.
- Reviews MOPs, Job Hazard Analysis (JHA), and 30,60, & 90% Engineering and project design as necessary.
- Ensures safety, equipment, and process training requirements are met. Conducts safety training and tailgate safety meetings.
- Reports or corrects unsafe or unhealthful workplace conditions or hazards, understands and complies with applicable safety, security and emergency response policies and procedures, and models safe conduct.
- Participate in development, tracking and forecasting of Operations budget
- Participate in personnel action such as performance evaluation and recruitment.
- Manages up to six direct reports
- Associates degree in Water Quality Management, Biological Sciences, or Chemistry
- 5+ years of experience operating a water or wastewater facility
- Valid State of Colorado A Wastewater License or be able to obtain one through reciprocity or renewal within 1 year of employment
