Title: People Operations Manager - Payroll & HR Compliance

Location: Remote, California

Compensation: $100K-$120K (DOE) + Bonus opportunities

Key Responsibilities

Oversee the payroll process and ensure timely and accurate payroll services.
Managing two junior HR staff in compliance and payroll.
Ensure compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal labor laws and regulations.
Develop and implement HR policies and procedures to enhance organizational effectiveness.
Collaborate with department heads to understand and address their HR needs.
Stay up to date on the employment market to manage job posting and ensure competitive salary ranges.
Manage employee onboarding, training, and development programs.
Monitor and analyze HR metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement.
Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries and resolve HR-related issues.

Qualifications

7+ years of experience in multi-state HR or People Operations roles.
Multi-state payroll experience required
Experience managing junior HR staff required
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
Strong knowledge of payroll systems and compliance regulations.
Experience using Paylocity or similar payroll software is preferred.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
