Quality Engineer - Orange County, CA ( Tustin/Irvine/Santa Ana area)

Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Engineer to ensure the quality and reliability of our products within the Aerospace and Defense sectors, working to ensure overall product quality throughout the manufacturing process by identifying potential issues, implementing quality control measures, and analyzing data to drive improvements

The ideal QUALITY ENGINEER for this role will be responsible for developing and implementing quality assurance processes, conducting testing, and ensuring compliance with industry standards.  

 

PLEASE NOTE - This role requires a 4-Year Engineering Degree ( Any Engineering would be sufficient) and this is not a SUPER SENIOR role, but rather is more of a MID-LEVEL spot, and the role will have room to grow in the future/over time.

Some of what you will work on, on a daily basis, includes:

  • Working to implement quality control procedures and standards across the manufacturing processes.
  • Conducting statistical analysis to identify potential quality issues 
  • Monitoring production processes to ensure compliance with specifications 
  • Developing and implementing CAPA Corrective Action/Preventive Action plans to address quality problems. 
  • Working with MRB/Material Review Board on reviewing and resolving defects in manufactured parts.
  • Work on/Perform FAI/First Article Inspection as a quality control process, including the inspection of the first production run of a new part or assembly to confirm that the product meets the specified dimensions and features. 

    Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement quality assurance processes and procedures to ensure product reliability.
  • Conduct quality control inspections and audits to identify defects and recommend improvements.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to create test plans and execute test cycles for new products.
  • Utilize test automation tools to streamline testing processes and enhance efficiency.
  • Perform electronics testing and validation to ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Maintain documentation related to quality management systems (QMS) and ensure adherence to ISO9001 and AS9100 standards.

Qualifications

  • MUST HAVE - Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
  • Proven experience in Quality Assurance, Quality Control, and Test Engineering.
  • Direct Hands on experience with GD&T and use of metrology instruments ( Hand tools, etc.)
  • CAPA experience and other Non Conformance exposure/experience.
  • Strong knowledge of test automation and automated testing methodologies.
  • Familiarity with electronics testing and relevant testing equipment.
  • Experience in the Aerospace and Defense industries is highly desirable.
  • Understanding of ISO9001 and AS9100 quality management standards.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Any previous experience in the Defense, Aerospace, or other DOD/Military product or component manufacturing space will be given a priority consideration.
