Senior Mechanical Engineer/ Project Manager - Licensed PE
Location: Inland Empire, San Bernardino CA
Hybrid- 2 days home, 3 days office
We are a Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing Consulting Engineering firm located near the Inland Empire/San Bernardino area with a branch office at the waterfront in Downtown Edmonds. We are a forward thinking, innovative company involved in providing sustainable and resilient buildings and facilities through HVAC and plumbing designs throughout the state of California and beyond. We work in many market sectors including, Municipal, Educational, (primary and higher education), Military, Commercial and Medical. We have been working in a BIM 3D environment since the beginning of REVIT MEP.
We are currently seeking a dynamic Mechanical Engineer who enjoys working with our clientele and our design team. We stress customer service, and are looking for someone who prides themselves on their ability to interact and communicate with everybody involved. Design West Engineering offers a flexible working schedule for alternative schedules as well as the ability for a hybrid approach to office work. DWE offers the ability to work outside of the office for a portion of the work week.
Desired qualifications:
- 5-15+ years of experience in the HVAC and Plumbing Design with the ability to put complete set of biddable construction documents.
- 5-15+ years of experience as a Project Manager including all aspects such as attending meetings, managing designers and draftspersons, completing projects within timeline and budget.
- Must be familiar with applicable codes as well as methods of construction
- Must be able to multi-task between different projects
- Must have excellent communication skills and demonstrate the ability to maintain client relationships as an ambassador for Design West Engineering.
- Individual must be knowledgeable in commercial, educational, municipal construction
- Being a LEED certified professional is a plus but not mandatory
- 5 Years of Commissioning
Job duties include:
- Commission Buildings and knowledge of type of HVAC systems
- Provide Quality Control backcheck of Mechanical and Plumbing plans.
- Provide education and help mentor designers and Project Managers. Help develop continuing education programs and training
- Be able to formulate a cohesive design solution
- Coordinate in a timely manner with all parties involved on the project. Know what method of communication is appropriate for the situation at hand
- Construction administration including RFIs, reviewing shop drawings and submittals a
- Project Management, Client Development, Team Development
- Experience with medical and hospital projects
- Experience with proposal writing and client development
