Solar Project Coordinator & Interconnection Specialist

Location: Hybrid, (Berkeley office) with occasional jobsite visits around the bay area
Wage: $23-$27/hour, non-exempt
Term:  Temporary Direct Hire with possibility for permanent hire

We are an established commercial and residential Solar company that has been at the forefront of renewable energy technology for 40+ years. We are 100% employee-owned (you get stock!) and we are looking for a Solar Project Coordinator with experience managing utility interconnections to help us continue to quickly complete quality projects for our expanding commercial and residential customer base. 

Project Coordinator & IC Specialist

Position Overview
The Project Coordinator & IC Specialist will oversee and manage the permitting process for residential solar projects, ensuring compliance with local regulations and facilitating communication between stakeholders. This role is essential in driving project success and efficiency in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the solar permitting process for residential projects, ensuring all applications are complete and submitted in a timely manner.
• Coordinate with various stakeholders including clients, contractors, and local authorities having jurisdiction (AHJs) to ensure smooth project execution.
• Prepare and maintain project documentation, including solar permit applications and change orders.
• Utilize Microsoft Project to track project timelines and deliverables effectively.
• Assist in the planning and execution of solar construction projects, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards.
• Provide support in resolving permitting issues and liaising with AHJs to expedite approvals.

Qualifications

• Possession of a valid driver's license for site visits and meetings. 
• Experience in solar permitting and knowledge of solar permit applications.
• Familiarity with residential solar installation processes and relevant regulations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Project and project management methodologies is preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with various stakeholders.
• Experience with Sage software and managing permitting change orders is a plus.
