What You Will Be Doing
We are looking for an amazing Solutions Engineer that will be responsible for client adoption from pre-sales to customer success. This is a hands-on technologist role as you will be architecting and implementing enterprise data solutions for large organizations. A day in your life will be
knocking down technical and data barriers to the adoption of our products is your main responsibility. This includes being the technical part of the sales team focused on presenting our technology to help solve customer's business problems. Another critical part of the role is ensuring the success of existing customers, along with expanding the usage of our technology by discovering additional use cases within a customer's organization.
You will:
- Support pre-sales activity throughout the sales cycle by presenting technical solutions to specific client use cases using our data governance and data
management platform.
- Serve as the technical bridge between IT engineers/Data engineers/Business Analysts at Enterprise clients and Sales/Business Development/Engineering teams to
enable Enterprise clients to complete POCs and go to production faster with our platform
- Deliver hands-on solutions for data governance and data management in complex technical environments on-prem or cloud
- Understanding of data-driven test methodologies in order to create examples that speak to the business
- Identifying opportunities for clients to expand their usage of the product
- Provide feedback to product and engineering about product direction and roadmap in a systematic manner
- Drive data solutions with clients and prospects by gaining an understanding of business requirements and outcomes. Identify opportunities for a client/prospect to
govern their data and its quality, gain operational efficiencies, meet regulatory reporting requirements, and measure and understand business process
performance.
- Own the technical sales process from pre-sales through post-sales, including customer success, for multiple customers.
- Partner with Regional VP of Sales to drive new business.
- Carve out the appropriate scope to articulate benefits at demo, proof of concept (POC), pilot, and initial production usage. Minimum viable solution identification
for each situation with appropriate data.
- Design and implement enterprise data solutions for small to large organizations.
- Educate prospects on the business value and how the technology supports their business needs.
- Be the regional technical subject matter expert.
- Own the client reference architectures for implementation patterns and work as part of a unified team, sharing this knowledge with, and supporting, Sales,
Marketing, Product, Engineering, and others at our company.
- Map customer requirements to current and future product capabilities. Define potential product enhancements and collaborate with the Product.
What You Need for this Position
- 8 years of experience and success working in a customer-facing technical role in Enterprise software companies
- BA/BS in computer science or equivalent educational or experience (Masters degree highly desired)
- Ability to switch context quickly throughout the day and effectively managing competing priorities
- Excellent presentation skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Foundational experience with Java / OO programming, Python or other scripting languages
- Linux experience and BASH scripting
- Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, ElasticSearch, HDFS and other data storage solutions and access languages
- Familiarity with cloud architecture and the management of the environment using containers, common monitoring tools, batch operations, virtual memory
management and access to file systems
- Experience with streaming messaging systems and patterns including technical experience with Kafka, Spark or others.
- Experience with ETL, ETL patterns, queuing patterns and pipeline design and implementation
- Troubleshooting and incident management experience
- Experience with data management, data warehousing, data lineage, data governance, data analytics
- Experience with financial services (banks, insurance, investment managers, etc) and other highly regulated industries.
