Job Overview
We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead and execute design and commissioning projects for industrial control and automation systems. This role includes mentoring junior engineers, overseeing tasks, and ensuring efficient project completion. Responsibilities involve designing, installing, and troubleshooting drive systems, control panels, PLCs, and power systems. The position also requires hands-on support in both the shop and field, contributing to diverse projects in industries such as steel, paper, and automotive.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead design, installation, and commissioning of industrial control systems.
- Mentor junior engineers and technicians to ensure project success.
- Troubleshoot and program drive systems, PLCs, and control panels.
- Support power transmission, distribution, and project management.
- Ensure projects meet customer specifications and sound engineering practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of experience in industrial control and automation.
- Knowledge of control panel design, power systems, and relevant software (e.g., Rockwell, Siemens, AutoCAD).
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to travel (<25%) for projects. All travel is within 4 hours of Birmingham, AL area.
