We are seeking a skilled and experienced Tax Manager to join our team. The Tax Manager will be responsible for managing tax compliance, planning, and reporting for the organization. The role includes overseeing tax returns, advising on tax-related matters, and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and international tax regulations.
Tax Compliance & Reporting:
Oversee and manage the preparation and filing of federal, state, and local tax returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations.
Review tax provisions, estimates, and calculations for financial reporting purposes.
Coordinate and manage audits from tax authorities, providing necessary documentation and responses.
Tax Planning & Strategy:
Advise management on tax planning strategies to minimize tax liabilities and optimize financial outcomes.
Research and analyze tax laws and regulations to identify opportunities for tax savings.
Develop and implement tax-efficient strategies for the organization, including transfer pricing, mergers, acquisitions, and other corporate structures.
Team Management:
Supervise and mentor a team of tax professionals, providing training, feedback, and career development.
Review work prepared by junior tax staff and provide guidance for improvement.
Internal and External Communication:
Serve as the primary contact for external tax advisors, consultants, and auditors.
Communicate with internal stakeholders (finance, legal, and operations teams) to provide tax insights and support on various initiatives.
Tax Technology & Systems:
Leverage tax technology tools and systems to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of tax-related processes.
Implement improvements to tax reporting and compliance processes.
Regulatory Compliance:
Stay current with changes in tax legislation, compliance requirements, and industry standards.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations and support corporate governance requirements.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or Master's in Taxation preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in tax, including experience in tax compliance, planning, and reporting.
Technical Skills:
Strong knowledge of federal, state, and international tax laws and regulations.
Proficiency in tax software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.).
Experience with financial reporting (ASC 740) and tax provisions.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
